This informal, yet informational training program will get you in shape to complete the Modesto Memorial Classic 5k on May 26, 2012 in Tuolomne River Park. The mentoring sessions will be conducted by veteran runners & coaches in East La Loma Park at 6:00 p.m. every Wednesday. All abilities, from beginners to not so beginners. Walkers are welcomed & encouraged. The sessions will run for about an hour. Meet at the covered picnic area near the parking lot. Wear comfortable clothing & good running or walking shoes. To get to the covered picnic area, drive South on Oakdale Rd. past Scenic Dr. Take the next right & head West on Edgebrook Dr. for about four blocks. At the first stop sign, turn right into the East La Loma Park & drive down to the parking area. Added this year is a new division! 4-man relay teams. This will enable a team of four people to run 1.5miles each. It costs $100 for the team. This includes the following for each runner on the team: Tshirt, breakfast, awards, postrace refreshments. We will not be able to provide an overall race time for EACH runner (just the last one on the team). May 12, 2012 - Miracle Miles for Kids 10k Run/Walk, Morro Rock to Cayucos The 10k (6.2 miles) race course runs along the water’s edge from Morro Rock to the Cayucos Pier, one of the most beautiful stretches of beach in California. When participants cross the finish line, they will be treated to a post-race party with live music, lunch, a diverse vendor fair, children’s activities and an award ceremony. Additionally, every walker/runner will receive a goody bag filled with fun items and a 2012 commemorative Miracle Miles t-shirt! This event has something for everyone—from the serious athlete trying to beat their best personal time to moms and dads looking for something fun the whole family can enjoy. May 19, 2012 - Horseshoe Lake Trail Run, 5 Mile, 1/2 Marathon, Marathon & 50k, Palo Alto The course is within the Skyline Ridge, Long Ridge, and Russian Ridge Open Space Preserves. May 19, 2010 - Sunrise Run Half Marathon, 10k, 5k & Kid's Fun Run, Vacaville In 2011, Vacaville Sunrise Rotary and Neurofibromatosis CA joined forces to host the Sunrise Run, the successor event to the separately hosted Fiesta Run and NF Steps. The Sunrise Run features a half marathon, 10k run and 5k run/walk, as well as 1/4 mile and 100 yard kids runs. May 20, 2012 - EYE-Q California Classic 1/2 Marathon & Relay, Fresno This exciting half marathon has many unique features. First, the half marathon starts and finishes inside of Chukchansi Park in Downtown Fresno. Runners will experience running through the newly renovated Downtown areas, passing City Hall, the newly built Federal Court House, the Granville Lofts, Eaton Plaza and the Historic Water Tower. Runners will head to the Valley’s only accredited Chaffee Zoo, where they will run past the elephants, lions, tigers and bears. Arrangements have been made to bring some of the animals out of their cages to spur you on. After being entertained by the animals, you’ll leave the zoo and run by one of Fresno’s most famous landmarks, the Tower District, where you will be cheered on by plenty of spectators. You'll complete your journey heading back to Chukchansi Stadium where you’ll enjoy an array of good food, music and for those 21 and older, enjoy a free beer courtesy of Michelob Ultra. The ½ mile and 1 mile course is a smooth, flat dirt road through picturesque pine trees. The 5 mile trail run includes the above mentioned course plus forested single and double track trail with occasional open views of distant mountain ranges. There is moderate elevation change. Beach (the start) will depart Rodeo Beach (the finish) at 6:30 a.m. Parking will

November 3, 2012 - Lake Chabot Trail Run, 5 Mile, 1/2 Marathon, Marathon & 50k, Castro Valley The course starts at the Marina and travels around the popular Lake Chabot Reservoir and surrounding hills. November 4, 2012 - Two Cities Marathon, Fresno 1/2 Marathon, Clovis 1/2 Marathon & Kid's Mini Marathon, Fresno Always striving to improve, 2CM has added a second Half Marathon event for the 2012 race. This year we will feature the signature Full Marathon and two Half Marathons: the preeminent Fresno Half Marathon and the NEW Clovis Half Marathon! From now until March 31, 2012, the Clovis Half Marathon is ONLY open to past participants of any of our previous 2CM events. Following this special registration period (starting April 1) registration will be open to the public, space allowing. We are still working on the course details, but it promises to be a flat, fast out and back course. So which event is right for you? The Fresno Full, Fresno Half, or Clovis Half.
