MARCH

March 20, 2011 - 2nd Annual Modesto Marathon, 1/2 Marathon & 5k, Modesto
This Boston Qualifying course features a downtown 7 a.m. start, and travels through scenic tree-lined historic college neighborhoods, including the celebrated “house in the middle of the road.” Runners will then head past Modesto Junior College’s west campus, and into the countryside viewing the beautiful Diablo Mountain Range, passing the San Joaquin River National Wildlife Refuge. Runners then head back toward town, finishing near the host Doubletree Hotel/Modesto Convention Center. Proceeds will benefit the Teens Run Modesto program, which challenges area youth, especially those at-risk, to experience the benefits of goal-setting, character development, adult mentoring and improved physical fitness through a structured training program culminating in the running and completion of the Modesto Marathon.
