ShadowChase Grand Prix Running Series

The ShadowChase 4 Race Series cancelled for the 2022 year. Although, we still have a couple races for you to participate in.

In 2023 we plan to can resume the 4 Race Series, see below for what you can look forward to.

Grand Prix Details

The Grand Prix Series is a fun annual competition exclusively for ShadowChase members.

Points are earned by participating and volunteering at certain races throughout the year.

Points winners are recognized and rewarded at the annual ShadowChase banquet each January.

2020 Race Schedule

  1. Modesto Marathon, Half-Marathon, Relay or 5K:—Sunday, March 29  **
  2. Run-4-Water, Lodi Lake: Saturday, April 4
  3. Dr. Amanda Crews Run for Health: Modesto—Saturday, April 25
  4. Ripon’s Run: Half Marathon/ 5k & 10k: Ripon—Saturday, May 2
  5. Modesto Memorial Classic: 1-mile and 5K run/walks, Modesto—Saturday, May 23  **
  6. Western States 100, Squaw Valley-Auburn—Saturday & Sunday, June 27-28
  7. Escalon Park Fete: 2-mile run/walk and 10K run, Escalon— Saturday, July 11  **
  8. Peace Officer Memorial Run: Half Marathon & 5k, Modesto—Sunday, October 4
  9. Run for the Cheese: 5K run/walk and 10K run, Riverbank—Saturday, October 10  **
  10. Halloween Fun Run fundraiser —Saturday, October 31
  11. Spirit of Giving Run: 5k and kids run, Modesto—Saturday, December 12

How to earn Grand Prix points?

Volunteering and/or Participating
25 points

Placing in Age Division
30 points for 1st
29 points for 2nd
28 points for 3rd

Park Clean-up
10 points each time

Park Clean-Up

ShadowChase is a member of the city’s N.E.A.T. (Neighborhood Environmental Action Team) and has adopted a 3-mile stretch of the bike path near the El Vista Street Bridge in East La Loma Park.

Gloves, bags, and pick-up sticks are provided. Even if you’re not a member, we invite you to join us in helping to keep the park clean and free of litter.

Volunteering Grand Prix Criteria

Top 3 volunteers will receive a special award, next 25 top point earners will also receive an award.

Runners can also receive volunteer points if volunteers are needed on race day to help with set up, packet pick up, registration and tear down.

Western States volunteers will receive 50 points, if volunteering the whole night.

Sign in at ShadowChase booth or ShadowChase trailer to assure your points are recorded. NO double points for volunteering at ShadowChase events.

Running Grand Prix Criteria

Top 3 male and top 3 female point earners in the Running Grand Prix will receive special awards. Awards for the next 20 point earners.

You will NOT earn points if you run as a bandit—a person who has not paid for their entry.

Sign in at the ShadowChase booth or ShadowChase trailer to assure your points are recorded. Double points for ShadowChase owned races. Identified with ** after the date of the race.
