On a beautiful day, which in the winter of 2014-2015 was not unusual as rain and snow totally failed to arrive, a crowd of runners arrived in Oakdale to run the Flat Arch 50. Roughly 185 runners gathered in addition to many from the Modesto Teens run program.
Most runners took the out and back route on Frankenheim Road turning around near the intersection of Frankenheim and Sonora at 5 miles for a total of 10 miles. A few turned around earlier and a few ran on to the 6 mile mark before turning for a 12 mile total.
A small number of runners tackled greater distances using the 16 mile loop around Frankenheim, Sonora and 28 Mile Road.
