Cancer Awareness Volunteers Needed
It’s time for the Cancer Awareness Run and Ride and volunteers are needed. ShadowChase has been a partner with Memorial Medical Center since the race began back in 2004.
The goal of this event is to promote cancer awareness and provides an exhibit area with information about cancer prevention, early detection, cancer support services, nutrition, fitness and living a healthy lifestyle. You can also honor and remember those in your life who have been touched by cancer.
Our club does a fabulous job of coming in and getting the race underway and doing what we do best. Then we all get to enjoy the exhibits and sit down to a fabulous barbecue lunch.
At this point mostly course monitors are needed. We need to insure the runners are safe out there!
Please contact Dale Ghaner at daleandloretta@gmail.com or call him at 521-9582 and let him know he can count on you.

Teens Run Modesto Mentors Needed
Become a TRM Mentor and make a difference in student’s lives.
Donate 2-6 hours, 1 to 3 days a week at one of the TRM school sites in Modesto or Ceres. Mentors and students meet promptly after school is out of session for the day, usually 2:30 P.M. You do not need to be an experienced run-ner, you just need to have the passion to help students reach their potential and be successful in life.
TRM is a 26-week, conservative training pro-gram consisting of 4 running days per week which includes a Saturday program-wide group run beginning with the Halloween Fun Run on 10/31/15. The first training run consists of a 20-minute walk around the school track or cam-pus. By week 24, students will complete a long run of 20-22 miles.
Through mastering increasingly difficult running goals, students develop a “can do” attitude that will carry over into school, work, and life.
The program starts September 28 and culmi-nates with the running of the Modesto Mara-thon, 26.2 miles, on March 20th, 2016.

Help Recognize Our Volunteers
Our club runs on the efforts of our amazing volunteers. To better recognize those members who give back on a regular basis, we are adding a section to the newsletter for this.
The vision is a monthly spotlight on those timers, mentors, editors, etc. who are making a difference in ShadowChase.
To make this happen, we need someone to spearhead this page each month.
If interested, please email info@shadowchase.org.
RRCA Rep Needed
The RRCA is looking for a State Representative for the Central Valley.
State Representatives are important ambassadors for the RRCA, promote our programs and services to clubs and events in their home state.
State Reps assist the National Office and the RRCA Board in carrying out the mission, vision and values of the organization, while monitoring trends and issues at the state and local level and report them to the National Office. In addition they promote membership in local clubs and recruit unaffiliated clubs, events, corporate supporters and individual members. This State Rep Duties PDF gives some great specifics on what this entails. Perks of the position include free registration and other discounts for the RRCA’s Annual convention, provided duties for that calendar year have been fulfilled.
If you’re interested please email programs@rrca.org with a brief bio. Please also share why you’re interested in the role and what you’d hope to accomplish in the position. Applications for the position are due by September 1, 2015. At that time, top candidates will be referred to RRCA Western Region Director George Rehmet, who will help to make the final selection.
